la Louisiane
1 oz. Rye Whiskey Rittenhouse is good
1 oz. sweet vermouth Carpano Formula Antica preferred
1 oz. Benedictine
3-4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
1/4 oz. Absinthe for rinsing cocktail coupe

Stir rye, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, and Peychauds in a mixing glass filled with ice. Let sit while you rinse a cocktail coupe with absinthe (1/4 oz. sloshed around and tossed out). Strain your cocktail into the rinsed coupe and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Wonderful alternative for the Manhattan or Boulevardier fan.
