1 oz. | Rye Whiskey | Rittenhouse is good |
1 oz. | sweet vermouth | Carpano Formula Antica preferred |
1 oz. | Benedictine | |
3-4 dashes | Peychaud's bitters | |
1/4 oz. | Absinthe | for rinsing cocktail coupe |
Stir rye, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, and Peychauds in a mixing glass filled with ice. Let sit while you rinse a cocktail coupe with absinthe (1/4 oz. sloshed around and tossed out). Strain your cocktail into the rinsed coupe and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Wonderful alternative for the Manhattan or Boulevardier fan.
