CBTV-10 Forecast
08:02 MT Sun Sep 5, 2010

For 9/5/10: For Today: The trough out of the northwest is pushing through the area and has drawn in a few scattered clouds but no moisture so we will stay dry and mostly sunny today. The weather feature of note will be high winds building early as this trough edges into the area really peaking for the afternoon. Expect gusts to 30mph in the valleys and higher the further up you go.

Temperatures: Overnight lows were a little warmer than expected with Crested Butte only dropping to 37 degrees in town while Gunnison was a degree lower at 36 degrees. Daytime highs will be warmer than forecast in the term report with Crested Butte expected to hit 73 degrees and 80 again for Gunnison. Look for colder lows tonight right at or below the freezing mark as this colder northern trough settles in.

Outlook: The western pattern is entering the seasonal change with the southern plume pushing off to the east and a westerly dominated pattern is setting up for this week. Look for cool temperatures through Monday with some moisture possible by Wednesday.

I cannot believe this is the first time I’ve used a pizza wheel to cut a quesadilla. My chef education continues… Tonight’s quesadilla luxuriated in Wisconsin white cheddar mixed with Stella Gorgonzola, topped with honey smoked salmon with cracked pepper, cowgirl style. Divine inspiration!
