A solid coating of snow up high.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 10/6: It’s official, the first snow on Mt CB and a solid coating on Red Lady and beyond. The majority of the moisture lifted around our area yesterday to the west and north leaving us with a more electric convective mix than was expected. Look for the same again today with a little more sun early allowing for more isolated but stronger thunder cells that will build as the day progresses. Windows of sunshine will be short and followed by potentially strong cells so plan accordingly.
Temperatures: Overnight lows were milder than expected down low with Crested Butte holding to 36 and 41 for Gunnison. Highs will be cool popping in the windows of sun to 58 for CB and 64 for Gunni. Lows tonight will drop to the freezing mark.
Outlook: The flow turns to the west and all the moisture building there will move across our area Tuesday night and into Wednesday. We will see more sun in the mix which will brew up more potentially strong afternoon thunder cells with temperatures also starting to rebound. Plan on another day of mixed conditions with Thursday our first real day of sunny skies.
