TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 7/5: The mix of components feeding the wetter than expected conditions through the weekend linger through Monday with remnants keeping precipitable water levels high. This will mean a slight break from the thundershowers through the beginning of the day but look for more cloud cover building as we heat up. By this afternoon we will see another round of potentially strong thunder cells moving off the higher terrain and into the valleys so plan accordingly.
Temperatures: Overnight lows were about normal with Crested Butte reporting 43 degrees and 48 for Gunnison. We will see highs rebounding with this clearer start to 72 for CB and 77 for Gunnison but it will be cooler than last week’s hot conditions. Lows tonight will be a bit warmer with more clouds expected.
Outlook: Precipitable water levels drop below .75 Monday but a fresh surge from the southwest will bring them back up over an inch for Tuesday. Look for thicker cloud cover and thundershowers developing earlier in the day and possibly continuing overnight. Levels dry as the week progresses but expect the consistent threat of afternoon showers.
***Cottonwood Pass is back OPEN***
