| 3/4 oz. | Maraschino Liqueur | |
| 1-1/2 oz. | lemon juice |
Shake all ingredients in a shaker half-filled with crushed ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry. Under no circumstances use the juice from a jar of maraschino cherries - this is NOT the same as Maraschino liqueur.
The name of this feisty Depression-era cocktail is supposedly linked to air travel of the time—a risky venture not for the faint of heart.
